TRAINING
The design and implementation of a complete bespoke role-specific program for artists to meet the aesthetic and physical demands required to maximize their performance.
Ideally, we like to have the artist as early as possible at the start of pre-production if a dramatic change is required. We will source/install a gym convenient to them and travel to location(s) for workouts.
This pre-production phase is so important as once shooting begins, time is restricted. If there is a specific reveal and a date has been scheduled for that scene we would always work back from that target date. Tim has the tricks of the trade within his arsenal utilizing carb depletion/loading and water manipulation so the artist always looks their best on that specific day.
NUTRITION
We tailor nutrition plans for weight gain, weight loss, and performance taking into account dietary preferences. There are no ‘cookie-cutter’ plans. No one plan fits all.
We also work with food prep companies both here and in the US to deliver individual, organic meals with the required calorie content and macro breakdown to order.
This is by far the best way of achieving compliance as all macros are managed and controlled. This makes it very easy for the artist and production, as all the thinking is taken out of their day’s nutrition.
All they have to do is heat & eat the meals.
MENTAL HEALTH & WELLBEING
Every client is fully consulted to understand and recognize the way they each individually process the world and the immediate environment around them.
Taking this holistic, focused, and sympathetic approach ensures each client can be best prepared for the significant demands and challenges, both physically and mentally, when expected to deliver optimum performances at all times throughout the production. This also serves as a supportive role, which clients thrive on as they feel the genuine and dedicated care and attention of the entire Media Physiques Team.
One-to-one client support is available from the first day of pre-production until the production wraps via a range of packages either in person or via Zoom/Whatsapp/phone.
Additional support on either side of these timelines is available upon request and serves as a constant well-being, motivational, and caring relationship.
PHYSIOTHERAPY & MASSAGE
We work with excellent sports massage therapists and Osteopaths to help treat any existing injuries or to simply keep the artist healthy and injury-free. Injury prevention is absolutely vital and often overlooked until it happens.
PRODUCTION GYM
DESIGN AND INSTALLATION
We can provide exercise equipment to the studio. We will of course hand pick the best equipment for the actors’ specific needs in the space afforded.
We will additionally deliver and install treadmills and similar pieces of cardio equipment to hotel rooms or rental accommodation which is invaluable for time management as it allows the artist to get some cardio done whilst prepping for the next day.
ONLINE TRAINING, COACHING, CONSULTATION & SUPPORT
Whilst we prefer our services to be provided physically there with the client - in person - we often use online training where logistically it is not possible to do face-to-face.
This can be done simply and effectively via Facetime or WhatsApp (and a tripodideally), and can be very effective. The best results come from clients who have been trained in person first as they are more familiar with exercise form and technique.
This online service though works well if an actor is, for example, on a press tour and has a hotel gym available.
